Bastille Day Celebration

Bastille Day which is celebrated on July 14 is the French national day and the most important bank holiday in France! Setting the storming of the Bastille in 1789 as an essential part of the French History. The 14th July which is formally called La Fête nationale and commonly Le quatorze juillet has become a major public holiday, as this national day represents the first step to the French Revolution which eventually led France to Republic. From the beginning, speeches, military parades, and fireworks, along with public revelry, were part of the celebration in France. The slogan 'Vive le 14 juillet! ('Long live the 14th of July!') has continued to be associated with the day.

This year for the Bastille day celebration a short video on how Bastille day is celebrated in Paris was shown to the students. Also the students from grades 6, 7 and 8 sang the famous French song 'Aux Champs Elysées'. Click here to view the pictures of the event.
