The grade 9 students visited the NAB centre.

Fazlani L’Academie Globale’s continuous efforts towards the joy of giving culminated in raising a generous collection through the grade 9 food festival hosted on 7th September 2022 .The total proceeds collected were shared with the National Association for the Blind (NAB) in order to procure additional Braille resources to support the upliftment of their learning programme.

The grade 9 students visited the NAB centre on Tuesday, 27th September to handover the collection and gain an understanding of how the visually challenged are empowered through education and life skills.

It was an enlightening visit as our students were taken around to understand the different skills taught .The basics of reading /writing and number work through the braille code, the science of acupressure & physiotherapy, games & life skills are imparted to the students by making few modifications in technique & tools used in learning / teaching.

Students were informed that ‘the White Cane Awareness Day’ which is celebrated by the National Federation of the Blind every year on October 15th to recognise the movement from dependency to active participation in society and honour achievements as well.

This was certainly one visit that had everyone sensitised to a section of our society that is ensuring to empower, uplift and believe ‘that challenging situations cannot stop one from living a life he/she wants’
