The bake sale ‘Sweet Charity’ at FLAG curated by our students of Grade 9 on 11th January was successful in its mission of generating funds towards a noble cause.
The proceeds raised through the sale of ‘cupcakes for a cause’ aided in procuring furniture for the ‘Bombay Institution for Deaf and Mutes’ to be used in their cafeteria. On February 29th, 2024, our young entrepreneurs visited the facility and witnessed first hand the means and ways used to impart life skills that empower the differently abled children. They closely observed how the use of sign language is a powerful medium of communication amongst them. Further our students engaged with both students and teachers through different activities that enabled to sensitise them to a different world. This experience surely laid emphasis on what a child can do instead of what he cannot do, an important takeaway for our young learners.
