On the occasion of International Sudoku Day, our Grade 7 students participated in an engaging and exciting “Sudoku Mystery – Picture Escape Room” activity.
The activity transformed a traditional Sudoku puzzle into a fun mystery-solving challenge. Students had to solve the Sudoku by applying logical reasoning and ensuring that each number appeared only once in every row, column, and 3×3 block.
But there was a twist! 
Certain blocks of the completed Sudoku revealed a hidden picture. Students then used the corresponding numbers from the highlighted blocks to decode the mystery and discover the secret code word.
The activity made mathematics interactive, engaging and fun, while encouraging students to think critically, work collaboratively and enjoy the challenge of problem-solving.
