PI Day Celebration

Fazlani L’Academie Globale celebrated the annual Pi Day on Tuesday, 14th March with the IGCSE Level 1 batch of students.Pi,which is a mathematical constant, was founded in 1988 by physicist Larry Shaw and it is interesting to note the numerical date (3.14) represents the first three digits of Pi and also commemorates Albert Einstein’s birthday.

The morning witnessed an amazing ‘mathemagic’ hour whereby students nose dived into a ‘Pi Hunt’ activity that led to various stations around the school to unravel puzzles and decode the clue stations. The excitement amongst the groups was palpable as they cracked brain teasers related to aspects of maths and solved mind boggling activities of unscrambling letters, rolling of the dice and deciphering words through the ‘SNOTE’ technique. The hunt led to the treasure room and culminated as a prize in the form of a Pi Cake for the winning champions.

The students along with the Head of School, the IGCSE Coordinator, the Math Teacher and all other teachers who supported the fun activity closed the event by relishing the sweet treat.
