Every year on 2nd December, National Pollution Prevention Day is celebrated to bring awareness about the dangers caused due to polluted water, land, and air, as well as highlight how to avert industrial disasters like the Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
Our middle school students attended a guest speaker session led by Ms. Anuja Kartikeyan. She is a warrior mom fighting for our children’s right to breathe clean air, further creating awareness and educating citizens about various sources of pollution, how to adopt sustainable lifestyles, reduce, reuse, repair, recycle and repurpose.
The guest speaker session comprised of a personal story , a presentation that provoked students to take action and reflective practices that the students must follow to prevent pollution . This indeed helped us understand that “Sooner or later, we will have to recognise that the Earth has rights too, to live without pollution. What mankind must know is that human beings cannot live without Mother Earth, but the planet can live without humans.”-Evo Morales
