At FLAG, the ‘buzzworthy’ Spelling Bee event not only provides a valuable educational experience for the participating learners, but also allows them to engage in healthy competition.
The event held on Monday, 26th February was organised for the learners of grades 6,7 and 8 and it was hard to ‘bee’lieve how our students kept challenging each other in consecutive rounds with their ability to spell from a broad selection of words with varying degrees of difficulty.
A fun event for the participants, audience and the spelling bee master, the competition ensured to increase the knowledge of the origin of words, develop cognitive skills including the ability to handle pressure and the art of presenting in a supportive environment. At the same time it served as a catalyst to improve memory and enable students to analyse word patterns and apply critical thinking skills to decipher unfamiliar words.
The winner and the runner up along with all the other participants were awarded with a Certificate of Achievement for their exemplary performance .We are sure that all present at the event felt more rich in their vocabulary and language proficiency.
