Martin Luther King Jr. Day

In honour of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Grade 7 students engaged in a meaningful celebration highlighting the life and legacy of Dr. King.

The event featured a thought-provoking quiz that tested students’ knowledge about Dr. King’s pivotal contributions to the Civil Rights Movement. One of the fascinating facts discussed was that Dr. King was the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 35 in 1964, awarded for his nonviolent efforts to combat racial inequality.

As a continuation of this observance, students will delve deeper into Dr. King’s inspiring message by reading Martin’s Big Words in the upcoming week. This will be accompanied by a reflective writing activity, encouraging students to express their thoughts and insights about Dr. King’s enduring impact on society.
