“Martin Luther King Jr. was born on 15th January 1929. To commemorate his birthday, the students of Grade 6 and 7 engaged in activities to express their thoughts on his vision of a world where people are treated equally. His speech ‘I Have a Dream’ was an inspiration for them to pen down their thoughts on social justice. They even drew parallels between Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, who, like Martin Luther King, worked relentlessly to unite nations on the principles of equality.
Grade 6 students were quizzed on his life and work, while Grade 7 students wrote an article based on his quotes that they identified and related to the most.
All in all, students shared messages of equality, love, and non-violence with their peers.”
