Independence Day celebration @FLAG

The Independence day celebrations at FLAG to commemorate the 75 glorious years began with the ritual of hoisting the National Flag by head of school Miss Arwa ,followed by singing the national anthem.

The ceremony was hosted by the Head Girl and Head Boy and the programme included patriotic dances and melodious songs performed by the students that filled the room with an aura of emotional sentiments.
The programme continued with the Inter House Competition which was based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals that the school is most passionate about. The students are consciously made to weave these goals into the school culture so that they create a lifelong and ongoing responsibility towards the nation and world at large. All the four houses namely Explorers, Discoverers, Challengers and Navigators presented the problems & solutions through creative role plays with much sensitivity.

The programme closed with the ‘Walk of the Nobles’ with a line up of stalwarts and unsung heroes from the freedom struggle opening the show. They were joined by the Change Makers in the post independence era, whose contributions are aligned to the UNSDGs. The finale had the FLAG Bearers, a few members of the Student Council ,who are also the future leaders and changemakers, walk down the ramp.

The morning ended with Ms.Arwa addressing the FLAG family and she rightly said “ Let there be freedom in mind, body and soul. Our students are the change makers who will better the society but with responsibility.” Jaihind!

The Academic Director, Sir Hosh declared Challengers as the winning house and he also praised the efforts of the participants.

It was a day where each one had their Josh High with a Jai Ho in their hearts!
