Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds Brain Boosting Through Nutrition

With the exam fever rising steadily, we at FLAG took it upon us to get our students of grade 9 to unwind through a session on wellness by stressing the importance of supercharging the brain through smart eating habits on Tuesday, 29th April.

Ms. Carlyne Remedios, a certified wellness and health coach, informed and encouraged our learners through an interactive session about nutrition dense meals by smartly combining protein, good fats and complex carbohydrates, thereby avoiding energy crashes.

Tips to takeaway included, no skipping breakfast as it gears the body into momentum, limit sugar intake, enjoy local and seasonal produce and stay hydrated through the day.

It was interesting to note how our students suggested alternative substitutes for arriving at healthier and quick recipe options, well understanding that small changes eventually lead to impactful benefits.

We hope that our mission to promote the message of healthy bodies and healthy minds make a happy human, has been delivered to our students for keeps.
