World Health Day is celebrated every year on 7th April to commemorate the inception of the World Health Organization which held its first World Health Assembly in 1948.
The aim was to draw worldwide attention on the issue of global health and its importance.
To make our grade 6 students aware about the importance of health and the benefits of greens in their diet, we organized an informative session with Mr Husain Bharmal, an Environmental Sustainability expert in collaboration with Team Adventure
He enlightened the students and made them aware of how in simple ways microgreens can be grown in their homes with very little monetary investment but give them maximum health benefits as they are rich in Vitamins to boost our immune system. They are rightly called ‘Super Foods’ as a teaspoon of them can energise us.
Students were very enthusiastic and participated in the session wholeheartedly, clearing every doubt they had about how to grow these mini plants. They learned how to grow, consume and benefit from microgreens. Students were ready with all the required materials and enjoyed the hands on experience. They are now waiting to consume the ‘Super Food’ grown by them which will be ready in the next 7 to 21 days and further spread awareness about the same .
