Grade 6 – Fieldtrip

“Without knowledge action is useless and knowledge without action is futile.”

Therefore, on the 30th of September 2022, as part of an educational excursion students of Grade 6 visited the
Magic Artisans Village (Karjat).

Enriching takeaways for our students
‘Back to your Roots’ was the theme of our trip to give them a glimpse into and an understanding of village life. The students were engaged in various hands-on activities like carpentry, pottery, cot making, footwear making and many more. They also enjoyed the Anand Mela and a walk through a cave tunnel. In continuation, drawing water from the well and how to use the hand pump was a wonderful experience for them too. Further, students visited the Gaushala which was spick and span and they learnt how uplas are made, their importance and their uses. The biogas plant was another important feature of our visit. The vermiculture composting plant and how it is made were also shown to the students. They planted spinach on a small plot of land, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Apart from this they also learnt about Hydrofrolic plants and saw various medicinal plants and flowers.

After a scrumptious meal and snacks at regular intervals, they enjoyed playing and dancing with their friends and returned home with fond memories.
