At FLAG, oracy education is central to our mission, providing students with structured skill sets. This process emphasizes preparation, practice, progress, and ultimately, performance, which fosters confidence and transformed self-esteem.
On Thursday, 28th March, our Middle School students showcased their oratory skills at the English Elocution and Declamation Competition. The audience which comprised teachers, students, parents, and judge, actor Shreas Pardiwala, was captivated by their presentations.
During the elocution round, each student effectively conveyed messages through pathos or humor, demonstrating the fine art of public speaking. In the declamation round, students explored informative and persuasive ideas with fluency, clarity, and maturity.
The participants connected with the audience with energy and enthusiasm, leaving a lasting impression. Ralph Waldo Emerson’s quote, “Speech is power, speech is to persuade, to convert, and to compel,” resonated deeply with all of us at FLAG this morning.
