Barter Bazaar: When Learning Became a Living Marketplace
Our Grade 4 inquiry took a real-world turn as students explored marketplaces as systems—where goods are exchanged, choices are made and responsibilities matter.
Through the Barter Bazaar, students bartered and exchanged items, experiencing firsthand what it means to be both producers and consumers. Along the way, they reflected on fairness, decision-making and the impact of their choices.
Students from Grades 3 and 5 joined in as consumers, bringing the marketplace alive through peer collaboration and shared learning.
What made it truly meaningful?
The items collected were thoughtfully distributed to our auxiliary staff, turning learning into action and empathy into impact.
A beautiful example of inquiry, responsibility and community in action.
