Areedah Upletawala – 2nd in Remembrail, Overbooked 2023

‘Remembrail’ was an event where the participants needed to compose and recite a self- created poem keeping Roald Dahl’s style in mind by using expressions, humour/pun and splendiferous words.

Areedah’s poem showcased a high degree of creativity and originality by blending elements of Roald Dahl’s distinctive style with unique and imaginative content.. Her language was playful, employing puns and expressions that capture the essence of Dahl’s storytelling. She crafted with an engaging and lively tone, enhancing her presence. Areedah spoke and articulated well allowing all to easily grasp the playful nuances and humour within the poem. 

Her poem excelled in creativity, coherence, imagery, stage presence and clarity of spoken words. It successfully captured the essence of Roald Dahl’s style while introducing fresh and original elements, making it a delightful and engaging piece.
