Welcome to World Read Aloud Day
We made reading as interesting as play
The FLAG family spent their day with stories
Read tales of bravery and glory
With crowns on our heads and books in our laps
We travelled the globe without maps
The eyes widened and the smiles grew wider
The magic of tales was now even louder
An amalgamation of plot, setting and characters
We even learnt that an illustration is a picture
The hours flew as our love for stories bloomed
It looked like the television would now be doomed
We encourage you to pick a book
Maybe about dinosaurs or how to cook
Let’s read all day and then some more
Only in stories can we find treasures galore
