Inspired by Maya Angelou’s words, “Nothing can dim the light that shines from within,” a Me Time self-care session was thoughtfully designed for our Middle School Grade 6 parents. Led by Ms. Ashna Shah (School psychology facilitator), the session created a nurturing environment where parents learned to hold space for one another with empathy and care.
A Journey of Self-Discovery, the session unfolded in three meaningful stages:
- Building Connections: Parents engaged in the Space holder game, realizing the importance of spending quality time and nurturing genuine relationships as a foundation for self-care.
- Embracing Joy: A vibrant drum circle using djembes and percussion instruments got everyone moving and energized, celebrating the role of happiness in self-care.
- Reflection and Affirmation: A guided visualization invited parents to pause, reflect, and affirm love and acceptance, helping them reconnect with their inner light.
The icing on the cake was the heartfelt hug they received from their child, the purest form of love indeed! All in all, the session aimed to help parents cultivate a deeper connection with themselves and others, fully embracing their inner radiance.
