Learning and exploration awaited our 6th graders on their adventure filled tour to Kerala -‘God’s Own Country’ in the month of February.
The journey started in Kochi, where students explored the Chinese fishing net followed by a kathakali show. The charming streets, filled with colonial architecture and local shops gave them a glimpse into its rich culture.
The visit to a Spice Plantation en route to Munnar was an immersive experience into the world of spices, its significance in history, trade, medicine,culinary arts and appreciation of its agricultural heritage.
At the hill station Munnar , it was all about exploring the tea plantations and learning about how tea is green and processed, as some even tried plucking tea leaves!
At Madupatty Dam, students were greeted by the breathtaking views of the lush green hills and students experienced an adrenaline rush zipping on the speed boat through the serene lake.The stunning backwaters of Alleppey, taught our young learners about the importance of preserving such ecosystems and they sailed a boat ride to admire the bountiful nature.
The trip broadened their outlook on subjects of history and geography through their various visits, relishing the traditional cuisines, soaking in the beautiful sights and mainly learning the language of peace in the magic of nature.
