One festival celebrated across the many states

A confluence of  one festival celebrated across the many states of India was recreated and enjoyed  by the Middle School students and teachers on Tuesday,14th January.

Popularly known as Lohri and Makar Sankranti, this event symbolizes the end of the winter season as the sun transitions into the Makar Rashi, heralding the season of harvest and also marking the beginning of the world’s largest pilgrimage, the Kumbh Mela.

Transdisciplinary learning was experienced as the subjects of Art and French merged to enable students to create colorful kites and express their hopes and aspirations for the year ahead, with an aim to keep soaring high blessed by the Sun God.

Huge kite cut outs took center place in the school corridors to highlight the ‘farm to table’ journey on which messages of immense gratitude to the farmers were penned down.

The ritual  of preparing the  traditional sesame and jaggery sweet balls (til ladoos) continued to be a part of the festivity. Students and teachers churned out the sweets with love and shared it amongst the members of the school, ensuring that new year begins on the flavor of sweetness and warmth at Fazlani L’Academie Globale.
